Construction Manager – Dredging & Reclamation

Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced Expat Construction Manager to lead a large-scale dredging and reclamation project involving the development of a 1200-hectare island in the sea. This project encompasses complex engineering challenges, including dredging operations, revetment installation, and shore protection measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of the construction process, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate dredging and reclamation activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and subcontractors to develop and implement construction plans.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for stakeholders, addressing any issues or delays proactively.
- Ensure effective communication among all project teams, stakeholders, and local authorities.
- Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project delays or cost overruns.
- Lead safety meetings and promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring all workers are trained and equipped to perform their tasks safely.
- Evaluate and manage subcontractor performance and oversee procurement processes for materials and equipment.
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with local laws, regulations, and best practices in dredging and reclamation.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, specifically with large-scale reclamation and dredging projects.
- Proven track record of managing significant island reclamation projects with a focus on revetment and shore protection techniques.
- Strong understanding of marine construction practices and environmental considerations in dredging operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Experience working in international settings and understanding of expatriate living conditions is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from recognized construction management organizations (e.g., PMP, CCM).
- Familiarity with local regulations and cultural nuances in India.
